In case you weren’t aware, we’re here to tell you that summer has officially arrived! That was a mighty cold winter, and though we’re used to it, they just don’t seem to get any easier. Ottawa Italian Week
Little Italy, Preston Street
These extra special 10 days are to celebrate everything Italian: art, culture, history, and of course, food. Each day is packed with events from car parades, to bike races, to Italian buffets. Additionally, there is a whole lot of music and entertainment as well as games and activities. This vibrant festival is a blast for people of all ages.

Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival
Mooney’s Bay Park
The Time Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is an event that we would not recommend missing. The event began in 1994 and lasted for half a day with 25 teams participating. Now, the event spans over the course of 4 days and hosts over 200 teams! In addition to the dragon boat action, there will also be multiple stages with entertainment and music, marquee concerts, amusement attractions, sports, artisans, exhibitors, delicious food, a beach-side bar, a kid’s area, and MORE!

Heineken Escapade 2017
Escapade is back for another incredible year right here in Ottawa. If you’re not convinced, this should help: Zeds Dead, Tiesto, Dada Life, Above & Beyond, and SO much more. As part of the official Ottawa 2017 - Canada’s 150th Birthday programming, this event is sure to blow the minds of all in attendance. Music, dancing, awesome people, and good vibes only.

Picnic on the Bridge
Ottawa 2017 invites residents and visitors from both sides of the Ottawa River to come together and enjoy an Interprovincial Picnic on the Bridge, a first in Canadian history. This will be an incredible and powerful way to celebrate the 150th birthday of our country. The bridge will be transformed into a beautiful green park for families and friends to enjoy. There will be entertainment, samples from Ace Bakery, giveaways, and phenomenal views.

Okay, so this is the definition of next-level. In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, Ottawa 2017 has created a lounge in the sky, literally, 150 feet in the air. Ottawa International Buskerfest
For the 26th year Buskerfest will be taking over Sparks Street for 4 days of non-stop awe. Incredible performers from around the world are coming together to put on an outstanding show. These individuals have be perfecting their crafts for year and year, and now we get to witness it all in one place.
Ottawa Ribfest 2017
Prepare yourself (and your appetite) for 5 days of ribs, chicken, and pulled pork from some of the best vendors imaginable. On top of the non-stop grub, you can also expect live entertainment, craft beer, wine and spirits, contests, kid’s activities, and great company. Put simply, get ready to have a great time!

Foodies, get ready! This 1000-person long table dining experience will be in celebration of Canada’s world-class food, and will be beyond delicious. Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival
August 31st-September 4th
Parc de la Baie
Celebrating its 30th edition this year, we must say, this is an insanely cool event! This is a major tourist and family event which showcases balloons from around the world. These aren't your average balloons (though that would still be cool), these ones are specially-shaped and even more spectacular than you’d imagine. Additionally to the balloons, there is a ton of entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities.
